BackgroundCushing’s disease (CD) is caused by high levels of blood cortisol resulting from excess secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) from an anterior pituitary corticotroph adenoma. Clinical manifestations include diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, and depression.
